With two new woodcuts created especially for this edition, 'book-ending' the poem itself. These have been pressed by hand on an 1825 Albion Press at L-13 Light Industrial Workshop. One is 4-colour, the other 5-colour (his first)
The long poem all of gods dark places originally appeared as a wall text at Opelvillen, Russelheim, Germany for the exhibition Billy Childish: unbegreiflich aber gewiss in 2016.
Typefaces used include Garamond, Bodoni and -- uniquely from the Ludlow foundry -- Tempo. The poem itself is set in 60pt Artcraft, which was created in 1912 by German-American engraver Robert Wiebking.
Front cover artwork is embossed by hand on a 1960s Marshall embosser.
The board covering is Roma Guido Reni, a beautiful, textured handmade paper which is no longer produced by Fabriano. However, the House of Tangerine managed to source sheets from a long forgotten corner of a deserted warehouse in south London.
all of gods dark places is the first Billy Childish book to be entirely letterpress printed.
